Newbury Rock School gives guitarists, bass players, keyboard players, drummers and singers the chance to play in a band with people their own age, writing and learning songs with a live performance at the end of the week.
The emphasis is on showing how much fun music can be, with astonishing results by the end of the week.
We don't have any age or ability restrictions, as we feel everyone should have the chance to play in a band, although we do keep students with similar ages together.
We have world class and famous musicians helping the bands get to the highest standard possible, whilst having a great time. The rock school is held in a top recording studio, which is fully air-conditioned with five sound proofed rooms.
A minimum of 2 professionals will always be available for each band at all times to ensure everyone gets maximum help, as well as tutors for individuals if they feel they need it.
Some of the professionals who come to teach include Steve 'Smiley' Barnard (Robbie Williams, Joe Strummer, Squeeze), Jodie Hawkes (Chesney Hawkes, Pete Townsend), Ryan Burnett (The Crave),Tom Swann (The Crave), C.J Evans (The Crave),Tim Love,(Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) Lee Thompson (Madness) Chesney Hawkes, Pete Friesen (Alice Cooper, The Almighty) Dan Morriss (Sion), Chris Persiva (Tin Soldiers), Dan Leigh (New Device) Plus others!
Our teachers have been featured in Guitarist Magazine, Total Guitar Magazine, Kerrang!, and many more! They have also performed at venues such as the O2 Arena, NEC Arena and Hammersmith Apollo, as well as Download Festival and Sonisphere Festival!
We believe the above measures make our rock school a cut above the rest.
Newbury Rock School has been featured on TV around the world, and has attracted praise from some of the worlds biggest bands, including Metallica, Dream Theater and Linkin Park!
Our students 'The Mini Band' have become a worldwide internet sensation!
We will be running a May half term Rock School for 4 days, Wed May 29th to Sat June 1st. There will be morning and afternoon sessions available, each running for 3 hours per day. The performance day will be at the Waterside Centre in Newbury. town starting at 11am for everyone.
All day sessions also available.The cost will be £90 for the 4 morning or afternoon sessions. The cost for 4 full days is £180. The 4th day is the performance day.

NEWS FLASH! We have a very special guest coming! Guitarist Pete Friesen, who played for Alice Cooper for many years, and was also in the film Wayne's World. He also toured with Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson!
Breaking News! After playing the 02 Arena with Bon Jovi, members of New Device will be teaching at rock school along with The Crave, straight from their sell out UK tour! Tin Soldiers, just featured in Kerrang will also be joining the teacher lineup!
